We decided to make a small guide on how to donate to the ArtistsForCharity account, as we receive notes by some people that gets confused about it. So there we go...

What to Donate

When you decide to donate something you have to keep in mind that your donation will be used for selling Prints products. So here's a short list that will help you in choosing the right artwork from your gallery:

:bulletwhite: Size matters!
As we're going to sell the artwork as a Print Product, we need high resolution images! The better the resolution, the better the print will be. We want to offer the best products to our customers, that's why we'll always ask for the best resolutions. If your image doesn't meet the requirements that can be found in the FAQ #132: What are the minimum image sizes for each product? then it's better if you try finding a different image to donate.

:bulletwhite: What kind of artwork?
We accept all kind of images (digital art/traditional art/photography) and even literature works! If you're a writer and you want to donate one of your literature works give a look at this News: Prints for Lit.

:bulletwhite: Will this sell?
This is probably the first question you should ask yourself when you decide to donate something. When you're choosing what to donate always think about it.. Would you buy it? Will people feel like buying it? If the answer is "yes" then go on and donate it!

How to Donate

Donating is easy, you just have to send us a note with a thumbnail or a link to the artwork you want to donate. If you don't know how to create a link check the FAQ #81: How can I create links to other deviants, deviations, or websites? as for the thumbs check the FAQ #729: Why can’t I see my ad on the homepage?
If your print will be accepted we'll send you a note with the instructions on how to continue the donation process, you'll just have to follow a few easy steps and your print will be added to the ArtistsForCharity gallery ;)

Just a couple of more infos

:bulletwhite: If you're donating an artwork containing someonelse's work (Stock/brushes/textures/...) be sure to ask the permission for selling that artwork as a print. You can get more info about this in the FAQ #752: If my print contains an image that isn't mine, can I still use it for print?

:bulletwhite: Some people sent notes telling us they wanted to donate their artwork, and after we accepted their work and asked them to email us the source file we didn't hear from them again. If you really want to donate something please go through all the steps of the Submission Guide that will be sent to you via note. :aww:

Hi. I'd love to donate some visual art (I'm already picking lit pieces out) but I have a bit of a problem. My new modem has an upload limit, so I can't upload anything even resembling big, this includes dA gallery, dA Portfolio, facebook and e-mail attachment function... I used to use the internet in college to upload, but with the summer here, that's not accessible. So is there actually any way for me to donate photography prints?
